BYD Hi-Tech Week Unveils Next-Gen Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in Nepal
Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of BYD in Nepal, has kicked off the BYD Hi-Tech Week. Taking place from February 27 to March 2, 2025, at The Everest Hotel, Kathmandu, this event will provide an exclusive glimpse into the future of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and sustainable transportation.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Xie Yu, Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Mr. Ketsu Zhang, Vice General Manager of BYD APAC, along with Cimex executives Mr. Anil Shrestha (Chairman) and Ms. Yamuna Shrestha (Managing Director).
At the heart of the event, BYD introduced five next-gen models from its innovative sub-brands—Fangchangbao, Denza, and the premium Yangwang series.
The lineup includes - Yangwang U8, FCB Bao 5, Denza Z9GT, Denza D9, and BYD Shark 6 - highlighting BYD’s latest advancements in electric and hybrid technology, focusing on improved safety, performance, and innovation.
Key Technology Showcases
The Hi-Tech Week features live demonstrations of BYD’s industry-leading technologies, including:
Blade Battery Nail Penetration Test – Demonstrates the safety and durability of BYD’s Blade Battery, designed to prevent thermal runaway.
E-Platform 3.0 – Showcases improved battery efficiency, power output, and intelligent energy management.
Denza Z9GT Compass Turn & Extreme Turn – Highlights the vehicle’s ability to turn in tight spaces and its automatic parking system.
FCB Bao 5 Suspension Test – Displays the advanced suspension system for a smoother ride on various terrains.
Yangwang U8 e4 Platform & Disus-P – Features the Tank Turn function for superior off-road control and an intelligent chassis system for stability in extreme conditions.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Anil Shrestha, Chairman of Cimex Inc., emphasized BYD’s commitment to innovation, stating, “BYD continues to push the boundaries of New Energy Vehicle technology. The Hi-Tech Week is our way of bringing these advancements to Nepal and offering a safer, smarter, and more sustainable driving experience.”
The event is open to the public from February 27 to March 2, 2025, with three daily time slots:11:00 AM – 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Tickets are available on e-Sewa, while students up to the undergraduate level can attend for free with a valid student ID.
